DIPHTHERIA OUTBREAK:

Winter of 1892 and spring of 1893:

Note:

People could not get out for the doctor due to weather conditions and did the best they could for their

familys.

 Known Children's Deaths;

Walter and Hannah Gardner lost Two children,Doris(Dora) and Willis(Willy) Gardner

 

John and Ellen Hardy Finch lost one child,Flossie Alfonsa Finch

 

Philip and Nancy Permelia Ballard lost one child,Josephine Ethel Ballard

 

John Owen and Lydia Adeline Ballard Wardroup lost One child,Alice Loretta Wardroup

 

There may have been other deaths from Diphtheria.

 

 

SMALL POX:

The town of Soldier was quarantined the winter of 1900 because of a Small Pox Epidemic
